The old name of Tripoli was Oea and the city was developed in 700 BC by Phoenicia. With a current population of 1158,000, Tripoli is the capital and an important city of Libya. Citadel of Raymond de Saint-Gilles is the most famous tourist attraction in Tripoli among several others.

Constantine is the last city in our list of the world’s oldest cities. This city’s history dates back to 700 BC and its old name was Cirta. The current population of the city is 450,000.
